This course examines the theory and concepts relating to the effective display of data and the psychology behind it, with a focus on data, visual encoding, and usage. Concepts provide the basis for solving business challenges using data visualizations and the theory behind those visualizations. This instructor-led course is delivered using lectures, hands-on activities, and assignments.

After completing this course students will be able to:

  • Identify how data visualization has evolved into the business discovery tool of today.
  • Apply psychology to design principles used in data visualization.
  • Recognize data transformation requirements for use in data visualizations.
  • Evaluate visualizations to answer business questions.
  • Use advanced measurements and visualizations to make data discoveries.
